清雲寺から約1kmのところにある秩父札所29番の長泉院にもお詣りに行きました。
こちらのお寺の枝垂桜も綺麗です。
2本に分かれた大きな幹が見事な姿を現していました。
札所が開かれたのは、文暦元年、1234年と言われています。
江戸時代になると街道が整備され、江戸から秩父は近く、途中に関所が無いため通行手形を作る面倒が無かった事もあり、巡礼の旅で多くの人が訪れ、賑わいを見せるようになったそうです。
時には村の人口よりも多くの人が巡礼に訪れ、村民は対応に追われるほどだったそうです。
I also went to visit Chosen-in temple which is about 1km from Seiunji temple.
This is also a famous temple with beautiful weeping cherry blossoms.
The large trunk divided into 2 was amazing.
There are 34 temples called “Fudasyo” in in Chichibu.
This temple is No 29.
It is said that “Fudasyo” was opened in 1234, the first year of the “Bunreki”.
In the Edo period, the road was developed, and Chichibu was close to Edo, and there were no barriers on the way, so there was no trouble to make a bill of passage, so it was visited by many people on pilgrimage trips and became crowded.
Sometimes, more people than the population of the village came on pilgrimage., and the villagers were so busy dealing with them.
